Arco Group was founded in 1960 by late Shri Mahavir Prasad Ruia. Initial activities were started with trading in automobile and residential air conditioners and their spare parts. The 70’s saw expansion of manufacturing activities, especially in the areas of materials development. We have the distinction of developing several products for various applications through our own in-house Research and Development.

During the early 80’s Mr. Rajendra Ruia joined the business. After graduating from Mumbai, he obtained an MBA degree from the US, thereby bringing into the business a wider perspective and a recognition of the need to enter export markets. The Arco Group is headed by two working Directors – Mr. Rajendra Ruia and Mr. Narendra Ruia.
The Group employs approximately 200 persons. We are headquartered in Mumbai and our facilities are located in Vapi, Vasai, Thane, and Lonavala.

Arco is a diversified group covering a wide spectrum of technologies, products, industries and customers. We serve customers in Railway Traction, High Voltage Electrical Switchgear, Low Voltage Electrical Switchgear, Fabrication,
Casting industries.

We manufacturer various components and equipments for Railway Traction Industry such as Insulating Rods, Brush Holders, Lead Wires, Brush Holder Revolving Ring and Rocker Rings. We have been serving this Industry for the over three decades. Along with serving domestically we export our products to USA, Belgium, Thailand. Our products for the Railway industry carry the seal of approval from RDSO/CLW/DLW/ZRly.

It is to late Shri Mahavir Prasad Ruia’s credit that without any foreign collaboration, he pioneered the development of Glass Bonded Mica in India. This even today is a highly guarded technology, available with only a handful of manufacturers in the world. Today we are the premier Indian company supply these insulators to the electrical including traction industry worldwide.

Over the years we have developed technical and commercial expertise in Non Ferrous Castings. Our company specializes in manufacturing aluminium, brass and bronze alloy castings, using the sand moulding, shell moulding, die casting and forging processes.

We have developed these materials entirely through our own R&D efforts and to-date have an enviable record for supply of various assemblies and components approved by CLW / DLW / RDSO / BHEL at the highest levels of quality. We also work with the Indian Railways for Root Cause failure analysis.
